-How to Fix a Blown Radiator Cap-

So when you're chugging alongtwo-strokin it up a nice hill and you suddenly see steam pouring fromyou're engine, it's time to stop and open up the hood. A similarsituation happened to me this past week as I was zone scouting in asecret sled zone in the Wasatch mountains. I was ten+ miles deep at thetime of the radiator cap blow out and with no cap to be found and theprospect that running my sled dry would end in a horrible mess ofseized pistons and blown gaskets, I had to find a solution. Well kids, here's how ya do it.

Step 1- Take that beer you got in your sledbag (if you don't sled with beer then you're not sledding) and cut outa 4-5 inch diameter circle out of the aluminum with your leatherman (ifyou sled without a leatherman then you're just plain stupid)

Step 2- Cut small slits in the outside of the circle to make it easier to bend the circle around your radiator bottle cap.

Step 3- Steal all your buddies water and re-fill radiator reservoir.

Step 4- Place beer can circle over radiator bottle cap and bend into place. Secure the beer cap with bungees or zip-ties

Step 5- Drive out and go to nearest snowmobile shop to replace your jimmy-rigged cap with a real one.
